My gf and I have 3 cats. We get the big cans of hippie-friendly cat food, and dump the food into a plastic container that we keep in the fridge. Sometimes when we open a fresh can, we let the cats lick the can.
Sophia (a.k.a. Sofa Loaf, a.k.a. Loaf, a.k.a. Loafenstein, a.k.a. Loafelberg, a.k.a. Tomato Cat, a.k.a. Egg Cat, a.k.a. Gurrrl) here got her face stuck in the can for a bit. But she accomplished maximum cat food can lickification.

I've been around a lot of cats but have never seen cats that need slow feed bowls

I'd be afraid they would cut themselves. I'm guessing the cans aren't sharp after you open them?

This one is pretty small but the other two are a bit pudgy, and love to stuff their faces. The bowls slow them down from scarfing everything, which maybe hopefully makes them less fat. Also makes for less over-eating-induced barfing.

We have two can openers, both of which are the kind that cut through the side of the lid. No sharp edges.
